Let's see...

Teaching English now. Started a few weeks ago... Going pretty well and the kids are catching on a bit quicker than when I first started... A lot less shy and more willing to speak up but still kinda hard for them to catch everything I say, if it's all in English. They're good kids though and it's fun work actually! Plus the whole flexible time thing works well with me.

The weather's been so nice lately, makes me wanna go to the river and walk around, taking pictures and just chillin.

Going to see Basement Jaxx on Saturday maybe? Skiing on Sunday. Dunno where but it's gonna be fun!

The International Family is separating ways... First with Kristina's leaving two weeks ago(?) to Germany, then the roomie's leaving tomorrow for Hawaii, and Annina is indefinitely for leave next week to travel some more around Asia and then back to Finland. Of course Allison is still here gladly but there's really no one here anymore! Weird.

And then me going to China most probably cancelled. SAD.

I haven't posted in a while and I can safely blame it on forgetfulness, lack of interest, and lack of material to write about. With that being said, I LIKE LIFE! not love. No, that's too strong of a word especially for this time of the year (finals, holidays without my family, the blistering cold, odd memories, et cetera) but I've been good: thanks for asking!

I've built a bad habit of sleeping in through classes and just deciding not to go. My marketing teacher said to me on Wednesday, "Oh, Eric. Long time no see." It's kinda pathetic since it's my own laziness but you know... I don't know. I skipped my 3 hour Korean history class today too for Lotte World. SORRY BUT no I'm really not.

I think childhood makes things appear much more than they are. Or growing up and being corrupted just changes things. Lotte World used to be a lot more magical, a lot more sentimental, a lot more fun. No, don't get me wrong.. It was still fun but a lot more fake, cheap, and smaller in scale. ha... What am I saying?

Just noticed that I've started every paragraph with "I." I'm not conceded, I promise! :)

4. Curfew

I didn't make curfew on Saturday and it got me thinking... if I'm paying for my dorm room, if I have no other place to stay (esp. when I have no means of transportation other than a night taxi... and that's a no), and if I'M A COLLEGE STUDENT what is the point of a curfew? To keep me studying? ok. To keep me safe? yea... good one. To impose some standard of time management... whatever that is?

12AM for curfew is SO STUPID. especially if it's a weekend.

So I was stranded, homeless but thankfully not alone. Allison's buddy Jaewan stayed with me as we went all the way to Daehakno and spent the night at a 24 hour Tom N Toms... So glad she stayed, even though she could've left at anytime. We ended up eating some (24 hours) McD's, going to a playground, sipping on Tomnccinos, laughing at drunks, having cup ramen for breakfast, and walking the streets at 5AM (which gave off the weirdest feeling... like walking through a ghost city that just went through the apocalypse... and forgot about us).

All in all, lots of stress and sleep deprivation but still a really good experience! When am I ever going to do THAT again?

2. Rise Up Korea 2009!

Today I went REALLYREALLY early to church with the Parks and I was a zombie throughout the day until two friends dragged me after church to go to the Rise Up Korea concert which was FO FREE at City Hall. MASSIVE CROWD. on a nice field of random grass in the middle of Seoul, haha.

It started out with a brief opening with some choir/band ensemble, then some young kids' dance group... and then After School came out. They're a pretty popular girl group here and they performed two songs, introduced themselves really briefly and walked off lol. Then some singer named Ryan went up and sang some slow songs, all the girls squealed and screamed, and I didn't know who the hell he was. Pretty soon, it was time for praise and worship... After all that, which took around 1.5 hours, MC Mong wrapped up the concert and performed three songs with a long talk in between. COOOOOOOOL but I didn't really know the songs he performed. -tear-

So I made a blog.

I'm kinda in this country called Korea the South and its been pretty neattimes here. I already have a "family" composed of 3 U.S.A.ers (me, my friend Allison, my roommate Davyn), 1 German (Kristina), 1 Finn (Annina) and I'd like to say I'm living independently though I'm financially completely relying on my being wired US$... Convert that into Korean won = CHA-CHING. Too bad it all goes to dorm fees every month but even still... cheaper than dorms at South Carolina.

Toooooday is Friday... no... actually it's 1:35AM making it Saturday right now. Anyway, I had one class today, being Korean Language LVL 3! for foreigners and that went pretty alright. Went by pretty fast actually and the teacher has a liking for me, being the only male and non-Chinese/Japanese/Thai student in there. Awkward as all hell to talk to anyone though.

Had dinner at this swanky Italian buffet called Jessica's Kitchen with my fellow Sunday school teachers (yes, I'm a Sunday school "teacher" HAHAHA) and accidently ate some tripe with spicy sauce. Mer. The gelato was good though. As was pretty much everything else. EXCEPT THE SPICY RED, DECEIVING INTESTINES OF DooooooooM!!! idk what I'm on tonight. Lack of sleep perhaps? Yes.

I need to stop typing like I talk. It's annoying.
